Have you been over to San Ramon’s City Center Bishop Ranch recently? This Sunset Developments’ project is one of the most dramatic changes that San Ramon has experienced in decades, and although, like many other areas, it was badly affected by Covid, it has since rebounded.
The vision of creating a modern public square is now reality and with businesses like The Lot movie complex and Williams Sonoma plus a diverse selection of eating places including Fieldwork Brewing Company, The Slanted Door and Roam Burger, new life has been injected into San Ramon.
But all this may be just the beginning.
Staring some time this year, San Ramon-based Chevron is moving its San Ramon headquarters to a different office it is leasing in Bishop Ranch and the intention is to redevelop the Chevron Office Park with the construction of thousands of homes and a mini Santana Row comprising ground floor retail with living spaces above.
This new development is to be called Orchards and outline plans are for 2,600 homes, 125,000 square feet of retail space, a 2.5-acre park and a walking trail that would join up with the Iron Horse Trail. There would also be an outdoor theatre with space for 3,500 people with plans for live music, performing arts and more.
If these ambitious plans comes together, they will undoubtedly completely change the face of San Ramon and make it an even more appealing place to live, work and play.
