San Ramon Home Styles

San Ramon real estate covers many styles and price ranges. There are affordable condos and townhomes, luxury townhomes, patio homes, and high density planned unit developments. Many neighborhoods comprise single family homes both large and small.

Modest older homes from the 1960s can be found in south San Ramon and then in the 1970s, new homes tended to be a little larger, as can be observed in neighborhoods like Twin Creeks & Bollinger Hills area. Then in more recent times, 3 major master planned communities on the Eastern edge of San Ramon in the Dougherty Valley were established – Gale Ranch, The Bridges, and Windemere. The seemingly never-ending supply of new homes in Gale Ranch makes San Ramon a popular destination for new home buyers.

Geography

San Ramon has two distinct zipcodes, 94583 and 94582. The first of these, San Ramon 94583, covers the west side of San Ramon where most of the older developments are situated. This is what would generally be thought of as the center of San Ramon as it spans highway 680 and has numerous shopping centers.

San Ramon 94582 is the newer zipcode and although some of the developments there hark back to the 1980s, it also contains the largest neighborhoods in San Ramon – Canyon Lakes, Gale Ranch and Windemere.

The Future of San Ramon Real Estate

While San Ramon experienced tremendous growth starting in the 1970’s, it was really thought of mostly as a bedroom community, probably, because unlike Danville and Pleasanton, its neighbors, it still lacked a real downtown. This is not the case anymore with the recent opening of Bishop Ranch City Center, which will give potential home buyers even more reason to consider moving here.

Based on other parts of the area where new centers, or remodeled shopping and entertainment opportunities have taken place, all of this bodes well for San Ramon real estate values and this, combined with so many other factors of the San Ramon lifestyle should provide home buyers with a good financial investment as well as the opportunity to experience quality of life.

San Ramon appeals to buyers searching for top rated schools, safe neighborhoods, community resources, a gorgeous valley setting, and excellent commute options.  No wonder it has become one of the most popular destinations for home buyers in the Bay Area. And the San Ramon real estate market has performed exceptionally well, with strong buyer demand and robust development.
